Easy & healthy dessert in under 5 minutes

I am not sure if I am the only one in this position, but almost after every meal, I am tempted to reach out for ‘something sweet’, some form of dessert, whatever that may be. Luckily I am not a fan of chocolate and I never really have it in the house, but I am die hard fan of cakes, biscuits, pastries or tarts.

With all this said, ย I try to avoid the supermarket bought kind as they are full of sugar and mostly additives and unnatural ingredients. Baking at home is not always the easiest option- it takes time, you might be missing some of the ingredients etc. However with this little recipe, you can improvise and make it up to your own taste.

You will need:

3/4 cup of Greek yogurt (I personally prefer Fage 0%)

1 tablespoon ย honey

2-3 tablespoons flaxseed/chia seeds

1 medium banana

1/2 cup blueberries

1/3 cup of blended walnuts

 

Once you have everything ready,ย pour the yogurt into a bowl together with the blueberries, walnuts, seeds and honey. Cut up the banana in small slices and add that in also. Mix it up and voila!

 

You can always adjust the ย recipe after your own taste. For example, some people might prefer to use raspberries or strawberries instead of blueberries, or you could use any other kind of nuts: cashews, hazelnuts etc. If you do not have a blender, all you have to do is put them inside a clean towel, cover it and use a rolling pin or any other hard object to blend them yourself. You will notice that it creates rougher bits but also that brings a nice consistency to the yogurt if this is what you’re looking for.

If you’re looking to add a little bit of an extra, you can add muesli or whatever else you have lying around your kitchen.
