The other day, I went to central London to meet a friend and could not help myself but walk into Kiko. I own two things only from Kiko, a lipstick and a single eye shadow, and even though I’ve been happy with both of them, I still haven’t managed to get my hands on more. As soon as I walked into the shop I saw 100+ single Infinity eyeshadow pans which were all reduced from £5.90 to £2.80. Bargain, right?
They are part of the Clics Palette system, where you create your own palette, however they don’t sell the palettes anymore, which is kind of sad. They are coming out with new packaging (square instead of round it seems). So I felt like all those babies needed a home, even if they were only individual pans.
There were sooooo many colours, and it was incredibly hard to choose. I was at first attracted by beautiful bronzes, golds and brown, but decided to go a different, a very different direction instead- I already own too many neutral colors. I picked up what could be some of the brightest eye shadows that I have ever seen. And they are beautiful! When swatching, I was shocked by how pigmented they were and how they actually stained the skin- in a good way, in the way in which it LASTS. I got 231- Sparkling Amaranth, 250- Mat Grapes, 274- Mat Light Blue Sea and 275-Electric Blue.
They each come in thin individual pans, yet they give you 2- 2.5gr of products, which is very close to a full size eye shadow. You can see from the photos above that in terms of the colors that they pick up, they are AMAZING! However if I were to compare them, I would say that the blues have the best consistency with no fallout whatsoever, while the pink was the most difficult to work with- compared to the blue obviously- it’s still a great shadow. The purple was really good also, but somehow it just didn’t show that well in the photos, so you’ll have to take my word for it
I have not worn these outside yet, so it would be hard for me to tell you how long wearing they are , but after trying them, I would say that as long as you use a good primer, you should get a minimum of 8h use. In terms of how I am planning to use these crazy super pigmented colors, I am not sure if I would use them as my main color or all over the lid, but I will definitely use all of them for my lower lash line, as all of these colors are very suitable for my brown eyes. Also you can use them in different types of smokey eyes- both day and evening looks. For example, I would use the pink with my Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette to create a more vivid crease, or you could use the blue with a bit of brown also for a super dark vampy look. Maybe I’ll actually do these looks and post them here, we’ll see.
Also, last but not least, you might be wondering: ‘How are you planning to store them if the palettes are out of stock?’ Well, the plan is to go back and buy 5 more of these babies, and put them all in a small Z Palette- my first one actually! I have already ordered mine from the States, the Hot Pink one, so I’ll be able to have a nice little Kiko Palette or who knows, maybe I’ll mix it up and use some other shadows instead. I will definitely post it up as soon as I get it- probably around Christmas Time.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I look forward to wearing some neon!
